Massage

STRESS RELIEF

Massages can lower stress by addressing the areas where you may hold tension in your muscles. Massage also reduces the buildup of acids and toxins in the body that accumulate in response to stress.

Head Massage

IMPROVED
CIRCULATION

By encouraging blood circulation, massage therapy will increase your blood oxygen level, leave you feeling more energized, and encourage better sleep.

Back Massage

IMPROVED
MOBILITY

In order to prevent injury from sports and workouts, you need to listen to your body and care for your muscles. Massage therapy can help prevent injury by increasing your range of motion and helping your joints and muscles move more fluidly.

Your body does a lot for you. Because of this, it’s essential that you keep it in peak condition at all times. While eating healthy and exercising regularly are two important factors, you may also need to give it a little extra TLC once in a while. At In Motion Fitness in Cornelius, Mooresville, and Davidson, NC our massage & active release technique services will help your body and muscles remain prepared to perform at all times.

Regular massages can prevent unnecessary strains and injuries. Additionally, they can also stimulate your nervous system and reduce fatigue. If you want to rejuvenate your body after a hard workout or just need a chance to relax, we encourage you to take advantage of our massage services.

If you are struggling with an injury or chronic medical condition, you may feel like there aren’t a lot of options for recovery. However, massage & active release technique can provide a lot of relief for conditions such as headaches, shoulder pain, chronic back pain, sciatica, knee problems, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, plantar fasciitis, and more. Active release technique works for medical conditions caused by overused muscles, since it utilizes movement-based massage techniques that help to release the tension and buildup of chemicals and alleviate the pain that you feel on a daily basis.

The first step in the process of active release technique involves a full examination by a qualified professional who has training to perform this type of massage. He or she will feel the muscles in the affected areas, evaluating tightness, movement, and texture of these muscles, nerves, tendons, fascia, and ligaments. This helps the provider determine what areas feel abnormal and will benefit from treatment.

After the examination, the massage & active release technique provider will begin administering tension via direct massage of the affected muscles. Along with the direct massage, your provider will suggest movements that will correspond with treatment and encourage healing. Small tears or pulls in the muscles, resulting in these muscles becoming weakened and not able to take in enough oxygen to heal, cause many injuries. Massage & active release technique helps to break down scar tissue and stimulate the muscles, ligaments, tendons, fascia, or nerves. This customized treatment plan is patient-specific and offers great solutions to common problems.

We offer massage services to our clients as part of our effort to encourage comprehensive physical health. As you are working to improve your health and general physical well-being, you will find that your body needs more than just exercise. Nutrition, sleep, and caring for your muscles before and after workouts are all important parts of personal fitness. Our goal is to provide you with support in each of these areas.

A great way to care for your muscles is to have massage therapy. Massages have many health benefits and may help to ease physical pain you might be dealing with. Massage therapy can also help your body adjust to the work it must do—it can help ease your muscles and be better prepared for exercise.
